Scratch and Dent rugs are final sale. Each rug listed on our site is either wool pile on a cotton foundation, or wool pile on a wool foundation. Quality, unrefined wool contains a substance called lanolin. Lanolintends to have a naturalsmell, which many compare to thesmellof sheep – or almost metallic-y, but sweet and grassy.
Cleaning: Vacuum on occasion, with suction only. Spot clean with clear soap, alittle bitof white vinegar, and water. Never use a carpet cleaner machine to clean a vintage rug. If your piece is fragile or antique, or needs a deep clean, take it to a professional.
